We've been told that Detroiter's are tired of just shopping at the malls, and want to shop more in the City.
So, let us know what are the top 3 stores you shop locally (non Mall) and what you like about them. If you only shop indoor/strip malls, what are the tops 3 stores?
The "Shoe Lady" is the perfect place to accomplish several goals: 1. Spending your money in your community, 2. Spending your money to support African American businesses. 3. Getting some of the latest and hottest trends in footwear. 4. Establishing superficial friendships with other women who shop in the store ie.. "Girl does this shoe make my foot look fat?" 5 Getting put on the fastest growing email blast list in the City of Detroit, and last but not least 6. Being able to network! Some of the city's finest and influential shop at the Shoe Lady(like myself), either for themselves or for others. Keep a business card, resume and some tic-tacs on hand when you're shopping at the Shoe Lady, because it is a Hot Spot for fashion and networking. Did I mention the atmosphere? The decor at The Shoe Lady is to die for, if one has never walked up the 16 steps leading to the doorway of shoe heaven, let me take you there. Once you've made the 16 step journey you enter a room that is about 35x35 including the "cutely" decorated bathroom with the race car toilet tissue holder. The room is staffed with two comfortable black leather sofas (that I know did not come from TEC Furniture by the way they smell)
shoes line the north, east and south wall neatly stacked and color coded. The Cash-out area is just as cute as the bathroom with shoe boxes stacked behind the register covered with sticky notes filled with names of those promising to come back and get their shoes ( I will pick up my shoes Saturday!). To get the full effect of the atmosphere I suggest you take a trip to the Shoe Lady!
